On Episode 12 of Burlington Humane, we learn about Ticks with our Animal Care Worker, Chelsea Rodrigues as March is Tick Awareness Month in Canada. We will talk with Dr. Jackie Parr; Veterinary Clinical Nutritionist and Dr. Emmanuel Fontaine: Technical Services Veterinarian, both from Royal Canin about obesity and our pets. And we will learn about tabby cats with Kate Ellis, one of our Adoption Counselors.

On Episode 11 of Burlington Humane, we talk with Teresa Vyse, Ontario West Ambassador for Pets+Us, about the importance of Pet Insurance. We will discuss Spaying and Neutering with Dr. Emmanuel Fontaine, Technical Services Veterinarian with Royal Canin and we will have an update on Xena in our “Happy Tails” segment.
On Episode 10 of Burlington Humane, we talk with our Adoption Counselor, Kate Ellis about things we need to consider in the cold winter weather with our pets. We investigate adopting difficult cats to live as barn cats with our volunteer Mary Ellen Tuck, and hear the story of Xena: a feline survivor, in our new segment “Happy Tails”.
On Episode 9 of Burlington Humane, we will talk about dangerous decorations with Dr. Lindsey Patton from Headon Forest Animal Hospital, we’ll learn about terrible table treats with Chelsea Rodrigures, our Animal Care Worker and investigate some poisonous plants to prepare for the holidays.
On Episode 8 of Burlington Humane, we will talk with a group of students from the McMaster University’s DeGroote School of Business about Pitching in for Charity. We will learn about Burlington Humane’s Dog Adoption process with Janet Cappus and find out ways to give to Burlington Humane for Giving Tuesday.
On Episode 7 of Burlington Humane, we will talk about Royal Canin with Dr. Jackie Parr, Royal Canin’s Veterinary Clinical Nutritionist and Dr. Emmanuel Fontaine their Technical Services Veterinarian. We will also learn about the unique care of senior cats with Chelsea Rodrigues.
On Episode 6 of Burlington Humane, we will talk with our Event Coordinator, Alex Zych about our upcoming Ruff Ride motorcycle event. We will meet Dr. Ian Sandler of the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) and learn about Rabies and the CVMA’s Animal Health Week (October 1-7).
Episode 5 of Burlington Humane, we will say goodbye to our long standing reception volunteer, Bev Truman, learn what makes the perfect adoptive family with Janet Cappus and talk with Veterinarian Dr. Tina Hall about dental hygiene and our pet.
Episode 4 of Burlington Humane will discuss the adoption process at the Burlington Humane Society with our Adoption Counselor, Janet Cappus. Jennifer Henriques will also share with us why it is important to keep your cats indoors.
The kitty is Chopper, now named CJ (for Chopper Jr.) who was adopted in January. He is pictured in his new home with his new brother Chopper. I think it's safe to say that it's going well!
This is Dancer (now Luna) who was adopted December 17 and born on October 22 with her 2 siblings in foster care. She is growing very fast and loves to climb everywhere. We would love to see see how her sibling are doing.
I adopted one of my kittens from the Burlington Humane Society back in Oct of 2014 (he Is the smaller one) His name originally was Pugsly but I changed it to Memphis. He has brought so much joy to my household and wanted to thank the human society for what they do and the caring staff that take care of these beautiful fur babies
We adopted Zoey November 28th, 2014 from BHS! Clawing through stress and a shy personality she has really come to amaze us! 2 months later, she now prefers to be the centre of attention and most vocal family member.. She also loves to play fetch to stay in shape!
Kitten adopted on Jan. 18 is doing very well. He has settled into his new home and loving it! He is very playful and loves to cuddle. He loves to hang out with us when we are home. His name is Sushi (formerly Pumba).
