Pet Therapy
Volunteers with their furry family members visit retirement & nursing homes and other facilities throughout the community. There is also a children’s pet therapy program for our seasoned volunteers. You will be part of our pet therapy family, engaged in solo visits and group events. There are a wide range of facilities, with days and times to suit every schedule.
All pet candidates must undergo a pet therapy assessment with one of our professional animal behaviourists. Upon successful completion, volunteers must then provide a Vulnerable Sector Police Check and proof of up-to-date pet vaccinations.
Friendly and social dogs, cats and rabbits may apply.
Pet therapy makes a huge difference in the lives of the vulnerable community members whom we serve, and it is a meaningful and truly gratifying experience in which to participate.
